Untitled Travel

Travel writing, by its very nature, also offers a certain freedom of adventure. A keen student of place and journeying, Rebecca first began keeping a journal to record activities and impressions of a cabin she bought with her husband in the Colorado Rockies, in the mid-90s. When the cabin was replaced with a travel trailer, the recording habit was formed, and Rebecca started a journal of this new moving cabin. Finally, husband and trailer gone, Rebecca began her solo sojourns, with a small 5x7 journal as her companion. Untitled Travel is a collection of stories from these journals. Below is an excerpt written when Rebecca stayed for the winter on her own in a friend's house on Browning Inlet, Vancouver Island.
